As the owner of Perfectly Vintage, I’d like to extend a personal welcome to you!

20th Century fashion

With the launch of Perfectly Vintage, I have been able to combine my long-standing interests and my career experience into what I believe is an exciting vintage opportunity. For many years, I have enjoyed developing my knowledge of fashion history, particularly twentieth century fashion. Related topics also hold a special attraction – these include the changing ideas of beauty and cosmetic styles, plus the glamour and variety to be found in costume jewellery. These interests have led me to specialise in the type of items that currently make up Perfectly Vintage.

Chanel Limited

My career has involved spending over 10 years working in the luxury brand market (for Chanel Ltd), and another 10 years working in the heritage sector (most recently 5 years with English Heritage). These experiences have provided a foundation for setting high standards of customer service, with a focus on attention to detail.

Only vintage items in great condition

My interest in vintage clothing and accessories began during the 1980s, whilst I was a student at the London College of Fashion. When I am searching for vintage handbags, costume jewellery and powder compacts for Perfectly Vintage, I have two main principles – firstly, that every item should be appealing, and this could be due to its design, colour, shape or sheer style. My second focus is to only buy vintage items whose condition ranges from good to truly excellent. I have built relationships with dealers in antiques and collectables, the majority of whom have been trading for many years; I have regular instances of them saying to me ‘You won’t be interested in that – the condition isn’t good enough!’ My travels to find items for the site have taken me all over England – Perfectly Vintage customers can then enjoy the experience of purchasing hard-to-find vintage items from the comfort of home.

Clear presentation

One of my aims for the site is to provide clear information about each item for sale, particularly with regard to condition. Where the photos are concerned, there are a range of views, not just the front of the item – I’m sure you are interested in seeing inside a handbag or powder compact, or the back of a piece of jewellery, before deciding to buy it.

Regular updates

The site is updated every week, with a new selection of items being added. I am committed to providing excellent customer service, and keen to offer a site that is easy to use. Your comments are welcomed, and I would especially enjoy hearing from you with regard to items you have purchased from the site.
